Tucked up Downes lane (off little Malop Street in Geelong), Felix Geelong is a contemporary European inspired restaurant focusing on a celebration of seafood, vegetables and fine beverages.
Head Chef John Carter previously from at Vue Grand Queenscliff and Alma working alongside executive chef Jesse Hughes have created a modern menu, using only the freshest, local ingredients to create a variety of high-quality dishes. On the menu you’ll find oysters of provenance with shallot and red wine vinaigrette; root vegetable galette with mushroom and truffle; whipped mortadella; a lobster salad; and a gentle Ars Italica Oscietra Royal Caviar with crème Fraiche and potato beignets
Further highlights include a dry-aged whole duck; pan-seared sea bream with leek and butter sauce; Orzo with mushrooms and cheese; and roasted eggplant with tomato and parmesan.
The opulence doesn’t stop there. Save room for the desserts, with chocolate, banana and caramel with choux bun; a blue cheese tart with quince ice cream and hazelnut; and pistachio, mandarin and amaro.
